DANIEL MAKLANSKY MD

Dr. Maklansky received his BA from NYU in 1952 and his M.D. from the State University of New York, Downstate in 1956. Dr. Maklansky received his initial training in radiology while in the U.S. Army Medical Corps, and then served as the Radiologist at the U.S. Army Hospital in Nuremberg/Furth, Germany. He then helped in the initial organization of the NATO School of |
Radiological, Bacteriological, and Chemical Warfare in Vilseck, Germany in 1959. After completing his radiology residence at Mt. Sinai Hospital in 1962 and becoming Board Certified at that time, he was invited by Dr. Richard Marshak to join the practice that was originally begun by Dr. Burrill B. Crohn. In the ensuing four decades, Dr. Maklansky, aided by Dr. Jerold D. Kurzban, who joined the practice in 1972, helped build what is probably the largest GI Radiology practice in the Northeast and has used this material to write numerous scientific articles on GI Radiology as well as to co-author two books on Radiology of the GI tract. He has been visiting professor and/or lecturer at the University of Rochester, Bowman-Gray School of Medicine, Lenox-Hill Hospital, New York Academy of Gastroenterology, Cornell Medical College, Harvard Medical School, Maimonides Hospital and Beth Israel Hospital. Dr. Maklansky is Associate Clinical Professor of Radiology at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine and Attending Radiologist at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, American College of Radiology, American Roentgens Society, The American College of Gastroenterology and the New York Roentgens Society where he served as President.
Because of their experience, Drs. Maklansky and Kurzban attract referrals in GI Radiology from many of the leading gastroenterologists in the Metropolitan area and continue their special interest in this field and in ultrasonography. |

HOWARD GRUNTHER MD (retired)
Dr. Grunther is Board Certified in Diagnostic Radiology specializing in radiography, particularly nuclear medicine and mammography. After receiving his BA at Columbia College, Dr. Grunther received his M.D. at New York Medical College. He completed his residency in radiology at Mount Sinai in New York. Dr. Grunther served for two years as a captain in the United States Air Force as a flight medical officer. Dr. Grunther is Assistant Clinical Professor of Radiology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Grunther is a member of the Radiological Society of North America, and the New York State Radiological Society. Dr. Grunther has been included in Castle Connolly’s Guide to Top Doctors.
